We've had a lot of great questions over the years, from new artists clients, to recording studio first-timers. Below, you'll find both answers to these and some general information about pal.audio studios.
Common questions
1. What are your rates?
We offer hourly and project pricing for recording, starting at $50/hr with a two-hour minimum. Recording time can be booked in blocks (4, 6, 8, or 10 hours), or by the hour after two hours.

To secure your date and recording time, a $50 deposit is due at the time of booking and is applied toward your studio time. If rescheduling or cancellation is needed, the deposit is fully refundable if made more than 24 hours before the session.

If a cancellation is made less than 24 hours before your session, or if you no-show, your deposit is non-refundable. Each no-show for artists who book a project will incur a $50 fee applied to the final project invoice.
2. What genres do you work with?
We work with all genres and enjoy the creative process over what type of sound you could label a song with. Our experience spans metalcore, swancore, R&B, rap, indie, singer/songwriter, acoustic, pop, and country.

3. What do you use?
Good music isn't about the amount of expensive gear you have, but having quality tools to work with does make a difference - especially when you work with people who know how to use them. In our case, you get both.

We run industry-standard mics from brands like Neumann, modified outboard preamps, the most up-to-date version of FL Studio available, and a world of plugins from companies like Universal Audio, Antares, Soundtoys, and too many others to list. There are also a variety of live instruments, amps, and pedals to incorporate for custom beats and live bands.
4. How do I start?
Easy. Click the "Get Started" button below, fill out the form to tell us what service (recording, mixing, mastering) you're looking for, and we'll get in touch with you asap to set up a call to learn more about you, your musical goals, and see if it's a good mutual fit. The artist/producer relationship is critical to the success of the project, so this is something we take seriously. If we're on the same page, then it's time to lock in a session and get to work!
Working with pal.audio
Having a safe, relaxed, non-judgmental space to be fully creative is key to the success of your project, and it's something we strive to provide for everyone we work with. That said, there are a few basic items we ask from our artists:

1. No BBB, p&t
Bullshit, Booze, or Blood...we can explain.
​
Bullshit: any hard drugs or substance other than weed/cigarettes (you can smoke outside), anything that could be used as a weapon, guns, or threatening behavior toward our engineers. You'll be blacklisted, banned, and law enforcement will be notified. Period.

Booze: this is as much for you as it is for our own liability. We don't allow consumption of alcohol on or inside studio property.

Blood: we've found we get the best from our artists in a 1:1 environment free from distractions or influence from blood (friends or family). That said, we only allow artists at their sessions.

2. Keep it fun
Creating is a journey, and each song and project is different. It will challenge you at times, but challenges aside, the experience of bringing your ideas to life should feel fun. Don't bring expectations to sessions - keep an open mind, work hard, and enjoy the process.
3. Come prepared
Good preparation creates great music. It also helps you make the most of the time you have to record. Before sessions, send your beats (we don't download from YouTube to MP3), their key, and BPM to the studio email, pal.audio.studios@gmail.com, have your lyrics ready to go, and come with a gameplan for what you want to work on. We'll be there to guide and coach you, but this preparation creates the best environment for collaboration and a great session.
